Vendor spotlight: Hickory Wind Fibers

One of the treasures you’ll find at the La Crosse Farmers Market is Hickory Wind Fibers, run by Nadine, a longtime fiber artist with a gift for turning natural materials into something both beautiful and useful. Nadine creates hand-crafted woven, crocheted, and felted products from alpaca, wool, llama, cotton, silk, bamboo, cashmere, and other natural blends. Her tables are filled with rugs, placemats, table runners, scarves, hats, ponchos, mittens, fingerless gloves, lap robes, and even dryer balls — all made with care and connection to the land.
For years, Nadine raised alpacas on her family’s 70-acre farm, milling her own yarns locally. Now, living in town has given her the time to dive even deeper into crocheting and weaving, creating pieces that carry forward her love of farming and fiber arts. She says it best herself: “The La Crosse community is great! Customers, vendors, friends all make it a very enjoyable and rewarding experience.”
When you visit the market, stop by Hickory Wind Fibers to see (and feel) Nadine’s work — the craftsmanship and warmth woven into every piece speaks for itself.
The La Crosse Farmers Market may have a new home, but its spirit remains the same — neighbors coming together to share food, craft, and conversation. Whether you’re stopping by for fresh produce, a handwoven rug from Hickory Wind Fibers, or just the chance to enjoy a Friday evening downtown, City Hall is now the place to be. Come hungry, come curious, and most of all, come ready to support the local growers and makers who make our community shine.
