👐 Featured Small Business: Coulee Therapeutic Massage
If your body’s been waving the white flag lately—whether from stress, inflammation, or just everyday life—it might be time to meet Heather Odenbach.
Heather is a licensed massage therapist in West Salem and the owner of Coulee Therapeutic Massage. For years, she’s helped folks through neuromuscular therapy and traditional massage. Now, she’s added something new to the mix: Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD).
While MLD might sound buzzy, it’s not just a trend. It's a gentle, science-backed technique that helps your lymphatic system do what it does best—regulate fluid, support immune health, and calm your nervous system. Originally used for lymphedema, it’s now used to support recovery from surgery, chronic inflammation, PTSD, and more.
Whether you’re looking for post-op support or just want to feel better in your own body, Heather’s your person.

📚 Local History: A Lost Landmark, Captured in Paint
Before the current La Crosse Public Library stood at the corner of Main and 8th, there was another — a striking stone structure with soaring windows and a commanding presence.
This 1965 oil painting by Marion Cape Biehn captures the old library in all its glory, just before it was razed. The building may be gone, but thanks to Biehn’s brush, its memory lives on.
You can see this piece — along with 26 other original paintings — at the La Crosse Area Heritage Center now through October 5. It’s part of a special exhibition curated by the La Crosse County Historical Society and sponsored by State Bank Financial.
🖼️ Exhibit on view at 506 Main Street
