The La Crosse Sessions Band is a multi instrument/vocal group that embodies the spirit of an old pub jam session. Inspired by Bruce Springsteen's "The Seeger Sessions", the band plays songs from the fabric of America. Songs that need to be played because they are a part of our American story. It's the community of voices and instruments that make The La Crosse Sessions Band unique. Horns and fiddles, guitars and accordion, congas and keyboards. They all play together and remind us of the sessions of yesteryear. 💐We will be collecting freewill donations to go toward the maintenance of the 56 hanging flower baskets in downtown Onalaska.

Alright, Hidden Gems has officially made it to week 2 of being in existence, thanks to some excellent participation last week. If you remember, we covered best picnic spots last week.

Here were some of the recommendations….

  • The end/top of the Butterfly Field trail. Usually a pretty quiet, not super busy hiking trail, that ventures up the bluff and through a beautiful sea of wildflowers or better known as the butterfly fields. Continue on through the field, along a narrow rugged trail to the lookout point and enjoy a nice picnic over looking the entire city.

  • Hidden Springs Peony Farm! Spread a blanket and enjoy lunch amongst a field of beautiful peonies.

  • On Hwy 27 between Cashton and Sparta is a little spot called Espe Pond. It's not the quietest, no picnic tables, but grassy to take your shoes off for a quick grounding trek around the pond before getting back on the road.

Most Peaceful Place to Read a Book

Tell us: Where’s the most peaceful place to read a book?
Maybe it’s a shady bench tucked along the river. Maybe it’s a quiet corner of your favorite park or a coffee shop that never gets too loud. Wherever it is — we want to know about the spots where the world seems to soften, the pages turn easier, and the time passes just right.
