Welcome to a special edition of Good Morning, Coulee. This newsletter was started for a variety of purposes, but none more primary than the spreading of good news, positivity, and feelings of togetherness.

In that spirit, today’s edition is filled solely with good news and some of my favorite photos of La Crosse’s Rotary lights.

We’ll get back to the normal schedule tomorrow—but for today, bask in all the good that we are capable of. ❤️

Alright, here we go. I’ve been collecting some great headlines from around the Coulee Region that I am very excited to share with you. So, let’s see what amazing stuff our community members are up to this week.

Bernie Buchner, Inc Donates to School District of Holmen

🎉 A Huge Thank You to Bernie Buchner, Inc.! ❄️📚🎲 We are incredibly grateful for Bernie Buchner, Inc. and their amazing donation to the School District of Holmen! 💙 Their generosity includes: 🩵 48 pairs of new snowpants to keep our students warm this winter. 📖 32 books focusing on grief, anxiety, and mindfulness to support social-emotional learning. 🎲 98 incredible board games to make indoor recess days full of fun and laughter! This thoughtful donation will be shared among all four of our elementary schools, ensuring students have what they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. La Crescent Animal Rescue Accepts Generous Donations from the UWL Student Health Center

Gundersen Sets a Record in 2024 for Births

As 2024 comes to a close, Gundersen Health System is celebrating a milestone year at the La Crosse hospital with a record number of births. The hospital surpassed its previous high of 1,776 births from 2021, reaching 1,825 and still counting just before Christmas this year.

Anonymous Donor Provides $48,000 Match for Salvation Army Kettles

Donations made at the Salvation Army kettles will be doubled on Monday and Tuesday. An anonymous donor will match contributions up to $48,000. The kettles have already exceeded last year's total donations and are close to reaching this year's goal.
