☀️🎉 Good Friday Morning, Coulee
December 20, 2024

Well, we did it.
We made it to Friday—and we did it together.
It is truly a privilege to be here with you once again this morning. To say thank you for blocking off a small slice of your morning to my ramblings—I have prepared an absolutely packed newsletter for you today.
So take off your snow boots, grab a hot chocolate, and settle in. This is a Friday edition of Good Morning, Coulee ☀️🔥

🎶 Song of the Day
I’ve been resisting making the song of the day into just millennial musical nostalgia time—but I’m giving up. You are lucky that I lasted this long.
That’s right. It’s gonna be The Killers every single day from here on out. Just kidding—not every day. But today, it’s definitely going to be The Killers.

💬 Today’s Thought
“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.”

😋🥖 #ThatLooks Good
Today on #ThatLooksGood, I am extremely excited to highlight a local sourdough bakery. But honestly—this small bakery punches way above its weight class.
Wild Child Homemade is an all sourdough cottage bakery offering pick up in Onalaska and FREE local delivery to Onalaska, Holmen, La Crosse, La Crescent and West Salem on Fridays.

Guys, this is not even half of what this amazing local baker has to offer. If you want to understand why I’m so excited that I found them, visit the site.
Every month, they have specials. And this month, those specials are about as Christmas-y as you’d expect.
The December menu includes gingerbread cinnamon rolls with an eggnog icing, cranberry cinnamon rolls with a white chocolate icing, and a peppermint chocolate loaf, as well as all your staple loaves and cinnamon rolls.
Here’s the thing, guys. Katie, the owner, is taking orders right now for pickup and delivery on the 23rd and pickup as late as Christmas Eve. Yeah, you could order cranberry cinnamon rolls today and have them all ready to go for your Christmas morning next week.
AND—Good Morning, Coulee readers can get 10% off on the website by entering code MORNING10 at checkout. ☀️

👥 Community Spotlight: Keep Company Coworking Space
I’ve been trying to figure out a way to work this in the newsletter for a while—so I’m just going to shoehorn it in here—partly because I want this place to grab some attention so badly.
I am a remote worker. And working from home is great—but sometimes, I need somewhere to go that is representative of a real office setting. Our city isn’t big enough to have a WeWork—but you know what we do have? A charming, affordable, and easily accessible coworking space in La Crescent that seemingly nobody knows about.
It’s $49/month, keeps typical business hours, has desks, a conference table, printers, fast WiFi, and countless brochures on activities in the area (since it shares a space with the La Crescent Chamber of Commerce). Also, it’s a 3 minute walk to my favorite coffee shop, Affogato Lane.
And this is not just for remote workers. There are small businesses that have a membership to Keep Company for use of printers, meeting space, and their other needs.
SO—if you are looking for a place like this, it does exist.
